The Bad Guys 2

If you loved the first The Bad Guys movie, get ready for another wild ride—because the crew is back in The Bad Guys 2, and they’re “Back in badness.” This animated heist comedy from DreamWorks Animation brings back the lovable gang of reformed criminals who are trying their best to stay on the straight and narrow. But, of course, things don’t go quite as planned.
This time around, the Bad Guys—Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Ms. Tarantula, Mr. Shark, and Mr. Piranha—find themselves pulled into a globe-trotting, high-stakes heist. The twist? They’re not the ones calling the shots. A new crew of slick, all-female criminals known as the Bad Girls hijack the mission, and suddenly our heroes are caught up in a scheme way bigger than they bargained for.
The film is directed by Pierre Perifel, with JP Sans co-directing, and features returning voice talents like Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Awkwafina, Craig Robinson, and Anthony Ramos. New voices joining the chaos include Danielle Brooks, Maria Bakalova, and Natasha Lyonne, who bring fresh energy to the mix. The animation is top-notch, with Sony Pictures Imageworks teaming up with DreamWorks to deliver a visually slick and stylish sequel.
The Bad Guys 2 keeps the same playful, mischievous tone that made the first film a hit. It’s packed with action, clever twists, and plenty of laughs, all wrapped up in a fast-paced 104-minute runtime. The story dives deeper into the characters’ pasts and relationships, especially with the introduction of the Bad Girls, who shake things up in unexpected ways.
Critics have responded positively, with an 84% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a solid “A” CinemaScore from audiences. If you’re into animated films with heart, humor, and a bit of edge, this one’s for you. Fans of the original will appreciate the continuity and character development, while newcomers can still jump in and enjoy the ride.
However, if you’re not into animated capers or talking animals pulling off elaborate heists, this might not be your thing. But for everyone else, The Bad Guys 2 is a fun, energetic sequel that proves being “bad” can still be a blast—especially when you’re trying to be good.
