Cher is luminous, Nicolas Cage impossibly passionate, and the whole thing hums with warmth, opera, and the conviction that the heart simply does what it wants. Screenings are extremely limited — just one this week — so if you can get there, absolutely go.

Trouble in Paradise is Ernst Lubitsch at his most sparkling — witty, elegant, and surprisingly sensual for 1932, as two dazzling con artists fall for each other while pulling off a delicate heist. It's the kind of film that makes you feel sophisticated just for watching it, full of glances, wordplay, and the delicious tension of competing desires. Only a couple of screenings this week, so check times and book early.
