Zootopia 2
Get ready to head back to the bustling animal metropolis of Zootopia, because Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are back in action in Zootopia 2! This animated buddy cop comedy from Walt Disney Animation Studios picks up after the events of the first film, with our favorite bunny-fox duo facing a whole new kind of challenge—both on the streets and in their partnership.
After solving the biggest case in Zootopia’s history, Judy and Nick are now full-fledged officers. But things aren’t all smooth sailing. When Chief Bogo sends them to a counseling program called Partners in Crisis, it becomes clear that their dynamic might not be as rock-solid as they thought. And just when they’re trying to work things out, a mysterious new threat slithers into town—literally. Enter Gary De’Snake, a venomous pit viper whose arrival shakes up the city and sets Judy and Nick on a wild undercover mission through unfamiliar corners of Zootopia.
Fans of the original film will be happy to see the return of familiar voices like Ginnifer Goodwin (Judy), Jason Bateman (Nick), Idris Elba (Chief Bogo), and Shakira (Gazelle). The sequel also brings in a fresh batch of characters voiced by Ke Huy Quan, Andy Samberg, Quinta Brunson, and more. Expect new faces like Chevron the goat cop, Marlon Grizzby the grizzly bear officer, and Dr. Fuzzby, among others.
The movie promises more of what made the first Zootopia such a hit—clever humor, heartfelt moments, and a vibrant world full of personality. Plus, Shakira is back with a brand-new song called “Zoo,” co-written with Ed Sheeran and Blake Slatkin, which already has fans buzzing.
If you loved the original Zootopia for its mix of comedy, mystery, and social commentary, this sequel looks like it’ll deliver more of the same with a fresh twist. It’s perfect for families, animation lovers, and anyone who enjoys a good buddy cop story with a lot of heart (and fur). However, if talking animals and animated adventures aren’t your thing, this might not be your cup of tea.
Zootopia 2 is shaping up to be a fun, fast-paced ride through a world where predators and prey work side by side—and sometimes, go undercover together. Keep an eye out for its release in late 2025!
